Today Was Like Crawling Out of a Bomb Shelter
Today was the first day that Uni was open after the quarantine. Today I woke up jittery and a bit nervous knowing I was going to leave the house and interact with the world. I even took a while to get dressed, made sure I had showered the night before. When I got to school, the security guard at the gate came at me with a spray bottle of cleaning alcohol and a facemask. When I took my exam me and the 5 other foreign students still left in the country were told to spread out and wear our masks. All the cutlery in the cafeteria was plastic and encased in plastic bags, so were apples and bread. In town, many businesses that were forced to shut down by federal decree have been using the time to make some repairs; construction was still permitted. But you walk through town and as repairs are being made all around you, and the sweat from that stupid facemask is dripping down your chin you have the feeling that some bomb hit Cholula.
